A word from Doctor McFarland

I grew up in the Midwest and spent my summers at the farm as a child and loved playing baseball. My parents are now older than I remember my grandparents and my sons as old as I was when I went to medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and 2014 is my 20th year after graduation.My residency was done at a full service Osteopathic Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa and my Board Certification is in Internal Medicine but I consider myself a Family physician and I trained under some outstanding specialists in both Des Moines and Fort Worth. Four years were spent in a rural practice in Coon Rapids, Iowa and Saint Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll where I did inpatient, outpatient and Emergency medicine.I returned to Fort Worth in 2001 and was the Director of the Internal Medicine Training program at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth and clinic Director at Plaza Family Medicine on Hulen and was fortunate to have trained 30 excellent Internal Medicine Physicians that are now specialists and internists in this DFW area. My clinic in Azle was opened with the help of my son Cole and wife Penny in 2007 and both are both integral in it operation.Penny started the BioTE this year as a way to offer a therapy that is preventive and therapeutic to our patients. We are excited to provide this cutting edge treatment for balancing hormones to attain a healthier life. This product is exciting to me as a physician that promotes natural healing in the body.
